WHO ARE WE?
We are a team of Murri mentors committed to empowering our community by providing an opportunity to obtain a learner licence in a safe, cultural space.
Every major road we set out on today is built on our Songlines. Come with us on a journey that started with our ancestors alcheringa (dreaming) by respecting the lore of those songs that guide us to contribute to our well-being by travelling safely.
Murri’s on the Move have identified a number of barriers for our community to be licenced. One of which is to participate in Queensland Transport’s on line PrepL, an online learning and assessment program, then answer the required 30 questions after participating in their 4-6 hours online program.
Our ‘Cultural Learner Licence Program’ is an alternative! Attend our comprehensive workshops, with your mob and learn about safe road rules and respectful attitudes to driving.
Our mission is to assist our people and other members of the wider community to obtain a learner licence in a culturally appropriate space.
Our aim is for individuals to be licenced, therefore contributing to their wellbeing and community.
Our objective is to see our Cultural Learner Licence Program in all high schools and have seniors leave school licenced.
